An interesting thing happened to me yesterday during my first visit to the newly reopened City Hall.
I was in the Clerk's office reviewing some paperwork when I suddenly heard some hubbub coming from one of the cubicles. Apparently an employee was plugging in her cellphone and was mildly electrocuted.
The woman wasn't seriously injured -- she was talking and alert --
but as I was leaving the building, paramedics were rolling in a stretcher to take her to the hospital.
City Hall spokesperson Kelly Anderson said yesterday that the woman is "perfectly ok" and was taken to hospital only as a precaution. An electrician tested all of the outlets in the area and didn't find any problems.
Hopefully any future shocks taking place in City Hall will be political - not literal.
Perhaps this person discharges some static electricity, built up by shuffling along on the brand new carpeting, when she crated a ground for it while plugging in her un-grounded cell-phone charger?

I know electricians who worked there. They all couldn't believe how cheaply the place was re-done. 75 million later, we have the same place with cheaper materials and every corner was cut. They raised the estimate by 10 million to make it turnout on budget, whatta joke. Unfortunately, this is only the 1st strangedy to start happening once it gets in full swing. We were duped bigtime!!!

I went to the "new" City Hall for a meeting recently and was dumb-founded at the calibre of "finish" of the main entrance. The original stair case remains with do-it yourself tacky aluminum trim that is poorly fitted and squeaky. I would be embarrassed to take a visitor or client to our "new" tacky, $75,000,000. City hall. S H A M E Every Hamilton tax payer should pay a visit and check the value they received.

When will city counselors realize that "money goes, where money grows" ask successful investors what is the key to a good real estate investment? L O C A T I O N, close to good transit, highways, affluence enough to afford the events, and suitable secure parking, where, as close to Burlington border as possible.
