The Spectator's coverage starts today with news that the city and Jim Balisillie have reached a lease agreement for Copps Colesium. Steve Milton has a column on the challenges of moving NHL clubs and Jeff Mahoney reflects on the Great Expectations of the city's arena.
There is a also a CP story on the Premier's comments regarding possible funding for Copps renovations and an update on the city of Glendale's court filings in an attempt to keep the team in Arizona.
Jeff Blair, the Globe's baseball writer and a Hamilton natve, weights in on Gretzky. And the National Post says the value of Coyotes memorabilia could rise if the team comes to Hamilton.
The Arizona Republic has a story on the ongoing court squabbles between Jerry Moyes and the NHL.
Moyes alters documents, Balsillie circumvents the Rules of Governance and Hamilton taxpayers could be asked to shelve out cash for Copps ugrades? And the mayor is eager to jump on board with these shiesters? Hope you enjoyed your term as mayor; it will likely be your only one.

I would love to know how the Mayor and the other higher ups can just dump the bulldogs and there owner Mr.Michael Andlauer after all the things this team has done for this so called city.. I can understand Basillie he is a money hungry man out to fill his own pocket as for the mayor of this city he is just looking to dump copps so some one other then the city will have to pay for the taxes and up keep of it we will give him this and that if he gets a NHL team in here but they do nothing for the bulldogs ever... I for one and a bunch of my friends will never jump on the band wagon for this team

The article failed to include October of WHAT YEAR? Surely it can't mean THIS YEAR? The battling parties will be lucky to get a court date after the May 19 date in Phoenix, before October 2009.
