NHL czar Gary Bettman today responded to Andrea Horwath's open letter about an NHL franchise for this city. It was polite, but clearly repeated the NHL position that Hamilton isn't in its plans. Read the Bettman letter.
In Friday's Spectator, Steve Milton writes about how the NHL is drumming up support
We should have predicted this, but politicians are climbing in to the Coyotes ring. The Philadelphia Inquirer reports that a pair of senators are playing the buy American card. No darn way an Ontario city should get a U.S. hockey team.
pls hamilton stop letting theese people dangle all theese hopes of a team coming here once again we are just a bargaining chip for a team owner to have leverage for a better deal for himself and the team to stay were they are always remember the rich only get richer if he truly wants to move team how about a million dollar deposit for copps and if no deal comes forward no problem he loses deposit and put the million into making better arena for bulldogs or million dollars worth of free tickets so some people that have never seen a bulldogs game could now go this whole thing made good news again for couple weeks but nothing will change support the bulldogs because that is as close to the big show that hamilton will ever see once again we feel for the could be instead of what we have anyone remember the real proffessional team we have and we dont even support them tigers yes but how about the hamilton tiger cats sorry i forgot maybe we can get a nfl team thats another dream or nightmare you decide

It is quite evident considering the amount of press exposure about the bankruptcy hearing in another city of another country that Hamilton is once again getting sucked into the Basillie FAINT FAN OF HOPE.
