"Pardon the delay in updates folks....I had a baby and it definitely didn't go as planned."
That's how spec.com Parenting columnist and Brooding blogger Nicole Macintyre begins her post outlining the troubled birth of her second son, Noah. Nicole had been happily blogging about this second pregnancy, all the ususal trials and tribulations (selling her house and moving into a new one in her final trimester) when things took a turn for the worse.
Weeks ahead of schedule her membranes ruptured and she was confined to hospital while she finished "baking the baby" as she so delicately put it. The whole time Nicole has been tweeting, blogging, posting to facebook and sending along pictures, sharing her experiences with her diverse and affectionate audience.
The birth, when it finally came, was nothing like she'd hoped.
" I hated what was happening. I was supposed to be holding my baby and letting him latch for the first time. Instead he was on another floor in stranger's hands struggling to breath. My previously calm demeanor fell apart at this point. "
