Hamilton police seized 2.4 kilograms of cocaine during an early morning bust at an Ancaster home.
Four men and one woman, all in their 20s, are facing a number of drug charges.
Police say the drugs have a street value of $250,000, and were found through a “mid-level trafficking” investigation initiated by the vice and drug unit.
More than 40 officers worked to simultaneously search four residences, three businesses and three vehicles early Thursday morning.
Almost all of the cocaine was uncovered at private Ancaster home on Diiorio Circle.
A further 12 ounces of “suspected cocaine” was taken from a Montfort Restaurant at 246 Governors Rd. in Dundas.
Charged with a number of drug trafficking offences are: Jesse Johnson, 24, of Hamilton; Jonathon Cwierdzinski, 20, of Dundas; Fahd Ikram, 23, of Ancaster; Danyal Ikram, 25, of Ancaster and Mahvesh Ikram, 20, of Ancaster.
All but Mahvesh Ikram are expected to appear in bail court Thursday. She was released on a promise to appear and returns to court May 9.
